The owners of this summer lake cottage decided to tear down the existing building and rebuild a new year-round home. This home was to have all the amenities and comforts of their Bergen County home. This home has two main floors with a full walk-out basement. There is a three-car garage, and an attic loft connected to the main house via a breezeway.

In order to address the drainage problems of the sloping site, a small moat was created under, and around, the breezeway. The house has been designed with a combination of stone and cedar shake exterior walls. The rooflines are enhanced with sweeping and flared roof edges.
