There were two separate projects on this house separated by a few years. The first was a full house renovation and addition. The final floor plan layout was very unique. The renovation created a two-story octagonal entry and stair foyer that connects to a large kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. Off the foyer a hallway leads to a breakfast room, a guest bedroom, a mudroom, and a garage.

The second floor consists of several bedrooms, bathrooms, and an office that are arranged off a balcony around the two-story entry foyer.

The second project was the addition of a vaulted post-and-beam constructed addition on one side of the octagonal foyer. The great room is open to the kitchen and to the dining room. There is a large fireplace and a number of large windows. At the end of the great room is an octagonal screened porch that has views in three directions.

This project was phased so that the two separate projects could be done independently. This included constructing the rear decks and balconies in parts to accommodate the phasing. Structural provisions were made during the first phase of construction to allow for the post-and-beam construction of the second phase without disturbing the previously completed work.
