The existing home was an older small two-story home with tight living spaces on the lower level and bedrooms on the upper level. On the ground floor, a wrap-around covered porch with an octagonal gazebo at the corner extends from the front of the home, along the left side, and transitions into a large uncovered deck towards the rear. Inside, the existing kitchen area was converted into a transitional space between the existing area and the addition to the rear.

The addition on the ground level consists of a large open kitchen with an adjacent eating area. At the rear, a vaulted family room spans the full width of the home and it is open to an intricate ceiling with dormers on both sides. There is a fireplace at the rear of the family room that punctuates the interior view at the end of the home.

The upper level that is not part of the vaulted family room is used to make create the bathroom and closets of a master suite that then connects to a bedroom at the rear of the existing home. This creates a true master bedroom suite in a home that previously had three modest bedrooms on the upper level.
