The existing house was a simple ranch that the owner wanted to add a new two-car garage to one side, and a new master bedroom suite with enlarged secondary bedrooms to the other side. A new large covered porch area was added to the rear to create exterior living and entertaining space. Along with these additions, an extensive renovation to the existing home was completed to reorganize and improve the flow and function of the home.

The intent of the new design was to create the appearance of a stately ranch with large roof overhangs and to provide a more spacious interior that is geared towards modern living. The entire existing roof was removed to accommodate the new configuration of sweeping hip roofs. High vaulted ceilings were incorporated into the living areas in the rear of the house. All of these additions were designed around the core structure of the existing house, which did not change.
