The existing Ford dealership of Route 23 in Wantage Township was purchased by a new owner. There were two main goals that required renovations and alterations to the building. Also there would be a general updating and refreshing of finishes and other infrastructure such as HVAC throughout the building to modernize the facility and bring it into conformance with Ford's current design aesthetic.
The first major component requiring building modifications was the total reconfiguration of the customer service and waiting areas in the building. The existing facilities were insufficient and cramped. A new much more open and flowing layout was created that connects the service write up area to the waiting area, parts boutique, and the existing showroom. Also included in this are new handicapped accessible bathrooms that are centrally located for easier access to customers.
The second major component was infilling the space under the existing exterior service canopy. This would allow customers to drive inside the building to a climate controlled area to access service instead of parking outdoors under a canopy. This existing canopy also had big openings in it, so this old drop off area was fully open to inclement weather. The new enclosed area allows for drop off and direct access to the service advisors without ever going outdoors.
