The owner of the Exxon station in Wharton wanted to update and modernize his facility. The existing service bays were underutilized, and the existing interior shop was outdated and cramped. The decision was made to convert the service bays into new shop space to create a more spacious and customer friendly atmosphere.
The project also included upgrades to the existing site, including a new parking layout and safer pedestrian circulation. These changes required site plan approvals from the municipal planning board, as well as the county. Those approvals were part of the scope of work provided for the client.
The new exterior facades create a more inviting appearance for customers. The reconfiguration of the interior eliminated the cramped layout and provided more space for products and other retail amenities that were not possible before.
