The existing restaurant suffered a severe fire that made the existing structure unsafe and unable to salvage. It was ultimately determined that all of the framing would be replaced, and only part of the foundation could be saved. The new building would be wood framed, but with a stronger, complex steel support structure. Also, a new basement level was created to allow for adequate storage space.

A new design was created to not only reestablish the restaurant, but to expand its function as a catering hall. The new facility was expanded to accommodate two independent parties, or one large party space depending on the room divider configuration. The two main rooms have 18 foot high ceilings giving these large spaces a grand volume. These rooms, along with a kitchen, entry foyer, and public bathrooms occupy the ground level.

On the partial upper level, a large new bridal suite and facility office space is provided. From the bridal suite, a large round sweeping stair leads down to the foyer area – which is setup to be a focal point for photographs.

In addition to the building redesign, the site was completed redeveloped to provide more adequate, and safer parking for visitors. This redesign of the site was coordinated with the municipality and all the necessary approvals were obtained.
