This new lake house in South Carolina was to be utilized initially as a vacation home and eventually as a full time residence. Most important to making the design work was the building’s orientation on the site so that as many of the rooms as possible could take advantage of the grand lake views.

The home consists of steep roofs, large overhangs, and careful window placements to provide a passive system of maintaining occupant comfort with the hot and humid conditions native to this area. Strict design guidelines of the lake community building association had to be met. The completed home has received many compliments within the four hundred home lake association.
