The Borough of Wharton donated a piece of property to returning wounded soldier James Benoit so he could have a new handicapped accessible home in his home town. An effort was organized to group together professionals, contractors, and volunteers to make the project a reality.

Fox Architectural Design donated time to design a handicapped accessible residence that would fit on the lot provided by the town. Some special issues regarding the structure and the site were important to making the house fit the zoning regulations and avoid disturbing steep areas at the rear of the site.

The Star Ledger and NJ.com has set up a webpage with more information about, and photos of, James Benoit.
