The client purchased a seasonal lake community home with the desire to convert and update it into a full-time residence that maintained the lake cottage charm. The existing barn style roof was concealed with new dormers, and a new covered entranceway. A new gazebo-shaped family room area with a vaulted ceiling was created off of the left side of the house.

The upstairs master bedroom has a raised ceiling with arch-top windows. The downstairs has been opened up to create a less restrictive flowing floor plan throughout the living room and the kitchen. The updated plan works around the original stone fireplace, which was restored and reconstructed.

All new low-maintenance clad windows and maintenance-free vinyl siding were utilized on the façades. An open deck area was added in the yard to create a private outside environment.
