The site for the new building is adjacent to an established business that consists of several buildings that share a common architectural style. The site is currently fenced off from the street that is the main thoroughfare through the borough. This creates a disconnection of the site from the neighborhood.
The proposal includes removing the stockade fence and renovating the site to create an attractive development as viewed from the street. The key part of this redevelopment is a new building that can contain one or two retail or office tenants. The design of the building relates back to the adjacent building site utilizing similar brickwork and details as the older buildings. Big overhangs, detailed brick work, wood trim, and other detailing give the building the character necessary to occupy this prominent street corner in the borough.
